Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead and drive safety initiatives across heavy civil construction projects. This role will oversee jobsite safety compliance, training, and culture across projects involving earthwork, utilities, roadways, bridges, and infrastructure work.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and enforce company-wide safety programs across heavy civil projects

Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local safety regulations

Conduct regular site audits, safety inspections, and risk assessments

Develop and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and orientation programs

Investigate incidents, near misses, and implement corrective action plans

Collaborate with Project Managers and Superintendents to proactively mitigate risk

Maintain documentation including JHAs, safety logs, and compliance reporting

Support pre-bid and pre-construction safety planning

Qualifications:

5+ years of safety experience in heavy civil construction (earthwork, utilities, DOT, bridges, site development, etc.)

Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and heavy equipment safety

OSHA 30 (required)

CHST, CSP, or other safety certifications preferred

Experience working on DOT or federally funded projects is a plus

Strong leadership and communication skills
