As a Hendrick Technical Solutions Buyer, you will work closely with production management and engineering to identify and source project requirements, and is responsible for supplier relationship management, purchase order execution, trend analysis/strategic sourcing plans, and data/systems management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Own supplier sourcing and general price negotiations.
  • Execute procurement of goods through MRP or as direct contract requirements.
  • Purchase execution to include:
  • Quotation/RFQ process
  • Place POs and maintain compliant purchase order files
  • Conduct supplier cost management, competition, and price analysis
  • Manage schedule of product to meet demand
  • Manage order closeout reconciliation of goods receipts and invoices as required
  • Process non-conformances and vendor returns
  • Independently manage Bill of Material (BOM) procurement and BOM maintenance for assigned projects.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of purchasing and receiving transactions.
  • Directly adhere to procurement procedures and policies per Company and government regulations.
  • Established knowledge of documentation, drawings, datasheets, solid models in support of quotations.
  • Support product lifecycle activities.
  • Proactively work with suppliers to monitor and achieve on-time deliveries to customers.
  • Perform root cause analysis of any delayed or missed delivery; develop immediate recovery plan and lead resolution to permanent fix.
  • Monitor changes affecting supply and demand, tracking market conditions and price trends.
  • Review supply risks and/or critical shortages with the program stakeholders; Work with suppliers to improve deliveries and close supply gaps.
  • Manage defective parts with suppliers for return or replacement.
  • Assist with product development by identifying supply channels and communicating product specifications and requirements through documents and drawings.
  • Understand terms and conditions for regulatory compliance (ISO 9001:2015), applicable flow downs and risk management assessments.
  • Support internal/external audit activities, including Purchase Order file reviews.
  • Liaison between supply base and internal stakeholders and establish and maintain meaningful relationships.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Business or Supply Chain 2+ years in procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing environment, preferred. Internships applicable.
  • Knowledge of metals, a plus.
  • Experience with ERP and MRP, Dynamics 365 preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills, proficiency in processing/charting/reporting data.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver time-pressured answers.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and superior follow-up and follow-through skills.
  • Effective time management and balance of multiple priorities.
  • Must have independent problem-solving skills and perseverance to solution.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Structured work ethic, and trusted ability to work independently.

This role subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements and as such, U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident or U.S. Person Status Required.
