Role Overview
A prestigious K–12 school in Shanghai is seeking an experienced and dedicated BTEC Business Studies Teacher to join its secondary division. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality BTEC programmes in Business, cultivating students’ entrepreneurial mindset, analytical skills, and real-world business understanding. This role requires a strong commitment to vocational education and the ability to inspire learners pursuing business-related career pathways.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and assess BTEC Business Studies courses (Level 2 and/or Level 3) in line with Pearson BTEC standards.
Develop engaging schemes of work, lesson plans, and assignments that integrate theoretical business concepts with practical applications.
Monitor and track student progress, providing timely feedback and support to ensure all learners meet BTEC pass, merit, and distinction criteria.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student achievements, internal verification processes, and assessment evidence.
Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, internal standardisation, and moderation activities.
Prepare students for external moderation and ensure compliance with BTEC quality assurance requirements.
Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and independent learning.
Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and attainment.
Participate in departmental meetings, professional development sessions, and school-wide events as required.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Studies, Business Administration, Economics, Management, or a closely related subject.
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant and focused teaching experience, with specific experience delivering BTEC programmes (Business or related subjects).
Stable work employment history with no frequent job changes (demonstrating reliability and long-term commitment).
Proven ability to meet BTEC internal and external verification standards.
Preferred Qualifications
PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
US state teaching certification (e.g., Standard Teaching Credential)
Experience teaching BTEC Business in a K–12 school preferred
